College Readiness and Success Models (CRSM)

Intent

The goal of the CRSM grant program is to continue scaling effective strategies that promote systemic reforms that improve outcomes for students who are academically disadvantaged. This program also focuses on implementing, scaling, and enhancing innovative initiatives in areas such as pathways advising, embedded tutoring, teaching/learning technologies, and professional development opportunities for faculty and support staff—all focused on improving evidence-based practices for acceleration strategies, persistence, and course pass rates helping to build students’ momentum towards successful and timely completions.

Eligibility

Texas public institution of higher education (IHE), including universities, community colleges, state colleges, and technical colleges with a developmental education (DE) program providing DE coursework/interventions in both mathematics and Integrated Reading and Writing.

Eligible Applicants shall satisfy House Bill 2223 (85th Texas Legislature) corequisite placement requirements, as outlined in Texas Administrative Code, Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 4, Subchapter C, §4.61, and verified by program staff through regular CBM reporting or the Developmental Education Programs Survey (DEPS), Section I: Revision Protocol.

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has launched the Fluxx Grants Management System (GMS), a new online platform designed to simplify and streamline the grant lifecycle, from application to award and reporting.

This RFA strives to address challenges and opportunities serving underprepared students through the following:

• ·implementation and scaling of continuous improvement practices;
• strategic expansion of corequisite models;
• developing and enhancing support for near college-ready (NCR) students;
• developing and enhancing innovative initiatives.

CRSM – 2026 aligns goals to support evidenced-based student success programs that positively impact retention rates, course completions, and academic achievements in support of the state’s higher education strategic plan, Building a Talent Strong Texas.

New: Fluxx Grants Management System (GMS)

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has launched the Fluxx Grants Management System (GMS), a new online platform designed to simplify and streamline the grant lifecycle, from application to award and reporting.

What You Need to Know

• Create and access your account via the THECB Online Grants Portal..
• Ensure your IT department allows emails from fluxx.io.
• Each GMS account must belong to an individual user with an official organizational email address.
• Shared or generic mailboxes (e.g., info@, grants@, residency@) will not be approved.
• A GMS account must be created before beginning an application.
• All applications and required documentation must be submitted through GMS.
• Grant opportunities remain listed on the THECB website.
