Higher EDge 2023: Leading Texas’ Future

Thank you for helping make 2023 incredible!

This year had it all – exciting programming, the first ever EDge Expo, and insightful connections between higher ed, business, philanthropy, and other sectors! We enjoyed celebrating the 88th Texas Legislature’s historic investment in higher education and the innovative programs and changes that came from it. Now is the time to seize on these opportunities by transcending the traditional pace of change.

This year’s conference featured programming on artificial intelligence, tech transfer, student success and advising, innovations in digital learning, and more. It also included an address by Texas Governor Greg Abbott, who touted the establishment of the Texas University Fund and community college finance legislation and what these efforts mean for the continued success of the state’s economy.

Our 2023 Star Award recipients are Houston Community College, Texas Southmost College, Texas A&M University, and University of North Texas. We celebrated our five recipients and their accomplishments and contributions to the goals of Building a Talent Strong Texas

Commissioner Keller delivered his annual The State of Higher Education address and told higher education, industry, and philanthropic leaders that they must transcend the traditional pace of change to meet Texas’ needs and ensure we stay competitive throughout the 21st century.

If you would like to view or share a recording of Commissioner Keller’s The State of Higher Education address, you may do so on the THECB YouTube channel. A transcript of the speech is also available.

We hope you enjoyed every minute of Higher EDge and thank you for making it another great year to look back on!

We can’t wait to welcome you back next year on December 12-13, 2024.
