Overview

The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board launched the redesigned ApplyTexas system in June 2024 and is available for institutions, counselors, and students.

System Status

The ApplyTexas System will undergo scheduled maintenance on Thursday, September 25. The system will be unavailable throughout the day and is expected to be restored before the start of business on Friday, September 26, 2025.

The new ApplyTexas system with institutional needs and processes at the forefront. The relaunch means several changes you and your team will need to prepare for. If you would like to receive critical information by email, or if you have colleagues who need to receive this information by email, please fill out this form.  

  1. Application Cutover: The new ApplyTexas launched June 10, 2024. Users have received alerts about the change, and your team should be sure to review all information below to ensure a seamless transition. 
  2. Payment System: In the new ApplyTexas system, payment will not be accepted within ApplyTexas, and students will be prompted to pay institutions directly.   
  3. Field Changes: Due to improvements to the application, there will be some small changes to fields in data submission. Your institutional IT lead will need to make necessary adjustments to ensure you are able to receive all application fields successfully.  
  4. Operating Costs: The THECB will be taking over the operating costs shared by all public institutions required to use ApplyTexas. This means your institution may no longer be required to pay a portion of the annual cost of the ApplyTexas system.
