Paramedic Exemption List

Overview

The Paramedics Enrolled in Emergency Medical Services Courses program exempts certain paramedics from paying tuition and laboratory fees for eligible emergency medical services courses at public institutions of higher education. This program is authorized by Texas Education Code, Title 3, Section 54.3532. Rules establishing procedures to administer the program can be found in the Texas Administrative Code, Title 19, Part 1, Chapter 13, Subchapter P.

This exemption applies only to courses pertaining to emergency medical services degree or certificate program that has been identified by the institution and published on the Paramedic Exemption List by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (Coordinating Board). Courses that make up the general education core curriculum required for all degrees are not covered by this exemption, unless the courses are identified by the institution as being a part of the emergency medical services curriculum.
