Intent
SSAP Implementation Grants 2.0 goal is to support students’ persistence and completion of credentials of value leading to successful career and labor market outcomes. This program focuses on the development, enhancement, redesign, and/or scaling of evidence-based programs and initiatives in the following program areas:
- Academic Supports
- Advising
- Basic Needs/Wrap-Around Services
- Finances/Cost
- Mental Health and Wellness
- Some College, No Credential Reengagement
- Underserved Populations, including First Generation and Economically Disadvantaged Student Initiatives
Additional programming opportunities will be available to assist students who may need additional support through our Student Engagement and Awareness groups:
- Pregnant and Parenting Students
- Foster Care
- Intellectual and Developmental Disability
- Incarcerated Students and Formerly Incarcerated Students
Eligibility
Eligible Applicants are Texas public institutions or systems of higher education, as defined in Texas Education Code § 61.003(2)(3)(6)(7)(10)&(16). Three or more eligible institutions may apply as a consortia.
Eligible programs/projects seek to positively impact the persistence, retention, credential attainment (completion), and/or academic achievement rates of an identified target student population. Proposed programs/projects must address each required component. Proposed programs/projects or interventions must have the ability to measure, track, and report metrics aligned with the priority outcomes of the Student Success Division.

Applications submitted shall focus on student success programs in at least one of the following Program Areas of an identified target student population:

- Mental Health and Wellness

- Underserved Populations, including First Generation and Economically Disadvantaged Student Initiatives

SSAP 2.0 Grants are funded through State appropriations, GAA 88th Legislature, HB1.

- Applicants must download and complete all required fields for forms 1-4 above. Once the forms have been completed, save all documents as individual PDFs. Applications are to be submitted via the SSAP 2.0 Grant Application Submission Form link. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
