Intent
The ASSPG supports public and private/independent colleges, universities, and health-related institutions planning for the accelerated development or expansion of innovative programs and initiatives by positively impacting access, persistence, completion, and workforce transitions.
Eligibility
Texas public and private/independent institutions of higher education; university systems; health-related institutions; or community, technical, and state colleges focused on student success programs in a) Academic Supports, b) Advising, c) Basic Needs/Wrap-Around Services, d) Finances/Cost, e) Mental Health and Wellness, f) Some College, No Credential Reengagement, and/or g) Underserved Populations: First Generation and Economically Disadvantaged Student Initiatives.

In May 2022 Commissioner Harrison Keller announced the ASSPG, supported by the Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) fund, authorized by CRRSA Act signed into law in December 2020.
