Higher Education Leaders and Policymakers Discuss Higher Ed and Workforce in Texas Dec. 7-8

Nov. 16, 2022, Austin, TX – Leaders in education, government, and industry will gather to discuss cross-sectional opportunities and challenges in higher education and the workforce at the 2022 Texas Higher Education Leadership Conference Dec. 7-8 in Austin.

The event will include a keynote from James Kvaal, the U.S. Under Secretary of Education, who will speak about the role of higher education in advancing economic mobility and prosperity for students, their families, and communities.

Keynote speakers also include Sanjay Sarma, author, mechanical engineer, and up until recently, the Vice President of Open Learning at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Sarma will share his insights into how technology can be harnessed to turn both workforce education and the standard business model on its head.

The annual conference will conclude with the State of Higher Education Address delivered by Commissioner Harrison Keller.

The two-day event will also include panel discussions on credentials of value, the Commission on Community College Finance, higher education and the upcoming 88th Texas Legislative Session, and philanthropy in higher education, among much more.
