Sept. 20, 2022, Austin, TX – As part of an ongoing commitment to provide increasingly useful and actionable data and insight, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) has again retained Student Tracker Premium data services from the National Student Clearinghouse (NSC) through Summer 2024.

“Access to enhanced data resources is critical to advancing higher education in Texas and ensuring the state’s economic competitiveness,” said Commissioner of Higher Education Harrison Keller. “I want to thank the Texas Legislature for appropriating funds to enable the Coordinating Board to retain these services and enhance resources for Texas institutions to access actionable, real-time data to better monitor student persistence and graduation rates.”

As an enhancement to THECB’s rich existing state data resources, the student-level data and tools will enable Texas institutions and agencies to better analyze and understand the student educational pipeline from primary schools into and through postsecondary education. The Coordinating Board’s retention of NSC’s premium data services will benefit educational efforts across Texas by:

  • Enabling public institutions of higher education in Texas that already purchase NSC student tracker services to upgrade to premium services, at no charge, for summer 2022 through summer 2024.
  • Providing access to custom reports and visualizations of data as well as timely updates to enrollment and completion data.
  • Providing additional de-identified data to the state’s three Education Research Centers for research purposes.
  •  Assisting the Texas Education Agency in analyzing data for high school graduates who leave the state to pursue higher education.

All Texas public higher education institutions have received log-in credentials to access the premium student tracker services. Many are already taking advantage of the enhanced data solutions now available to them.
