Jan. 25, 2024, Austin, Texas – The Texas Leadership Scholars program is seeking applicants for its Fall 2024 cohort. The application deadline for Texas seniors who are graduating this year is Feb. 15.
Students selected for the program will have tuition and fees fully covered for all four years of their experience provided they attend a participating institution and continue to meet program requirements. They will also receive a stipend covering the average cost of room and board at their university.
In addition to financial assistance, students in the Texas Leadership Scholars program will benefit from a peer network, mentoring, and more. The program includes a scholar-specific living-learning community for the first two years of the program; peer, corporate, and alumni mentoring; and access to undergraduate research experiences.
To be eligible, students must demonstrate the following:
- Evidence of leadership and service in their community
- Scholastic record and ability
- Demonstrated financial need
- Graduation from an accredited Texas high school
- Acceptance to a participating four-year institution
Texas Leadership Scholars began with its first cohort of 250 students in Fall 2022 and grew to 300 students in 2023. The program expects to select 250 students for its Fall 2024 cohort.
