Comprehensive College Readiness and Success Models for 60x30TX (2016-2018)

Program Purpose

The 2016-2018 Comprehensive College Readiness and Success Models for 60x30TX (CRSM) grants award funding that support scaling and enhancing comprehensive strategies and activities to accomplish the priorities of the 60x30TX higher education strategic plan.

Gateway Course Completion models for college ready students require institutions to identify courses that have a high rate of failure or withdrawal and increase student success by integrating research-based practices into these courses and the institution. The following institutions have been selected as grantees for the Gateway Course Completion model:

  • McLennan Community College
  • Texas Southmost College
  • Texas State Technical College – Waco
  • University of North Texas – Dallas

Acceleration models accelerate underprepared students through the developmental education sequence by enrolling students in co-requisite options resulting in successful completion of the college course in one semester. The following institutions have been selected as grantees for the Acceleration model:

  • Amarillo College
  • Kilgore College
  • Palo Alto College
  • University of Houston – Downtown
  • Sam Houston State University
  • San Jacinto Community College District
  • Texas State Technical College – Waco

Integrated Career Pathways (ICP) models (for underprepared students pursuing Career Technical Education (CTE) programs) require institutions to provide integrated career pathway instructional and student support services to ensure that enrolled students complete CERT 1 credential programs. The following institutions have been selected as grantees for the 2016-2018 Integrated Career Pathways model:

  • Amarillo College
  • Clarendon College
  • Dallas County Community College District
  • Del Mar College
  • Galveston College
  • McLennan Community College
  • South Texas College

2017-2019 College Readiness and Success Models

The 2017-2019 College Readiness and Success Models grants award funding that support scaling and enhancing comprehensive strategies and activities to accomplish the priorities of the agency under 60x30TX.

Integrated Career Pathways (ICP) models (for underprepared students pursuing Career Technical Education (CTE) programs) require institutions to provide integrated career pathway instructional and student support services to ensure that enrolled students complete CERT 1 credential programs.

Intensive College Readiness (ICR) models transition underprepared learners into postsecondary education with limited or no need for remediation upon completion of the intervention. These interventions may focus on one or more areas of intensive integrated reading/writing, and/or math instruction.

The following institutions have been selected as grantees for the ICP and/or ICR Models:

  • Austin Community College (ICP)
  • Alamo College (ICP/ICR)
  • El Paso Community College (ICR)
  • Midland College (ICR)
  • Tarrant County College District (ICP/ICR)

Accelerate TX – Integrated Career Pathways (ATX-ICP) models (for underprepared students pursuing Career Technical Education (CTE) programs) require institutions to provide integrated career pathway instructional and student support services to ensure that enrolled students complete CERT 1 credential programs.

The following institutions have been selected as grantees for the ATX-ICP Models:

  • Clarendon College
  • Coastal Bend College
  • Dallas County Community College District
  • Galveston College
