Title of Contract, Award, or Gift: Biomarkers of speech perception in adult cochlear implant recipients

Name of Granting or Contracting Agency/Entity: American Academy of Audiology Foundation

CFDA:

Program Title: N/A

Note:

The development of an objective electrophysiological marker of speech perception skill that is sensitive to individual patient differences holds promise as a potential clinical tool for audiologists. This proposed work aims to validate a neural biomarker of speech perception in individual adult cochlear implant recipients using a double-oddball mismatch negativity (MMN) paradigm. This MMN paradigm allows for the comparison of neural discrimination responses to speech stimuli within and across phoneme categories at the individual level.
