SAMS 1.1.1 In this project, there are specific objectives: 1) examining the changing mean and variation in antler size in both pastures during the experiment; 2) estimating apparent survival of marked deer using individual capture histories created from annual capture data; 3) examining the growth patterns of antlers to determine at what age antlers peak and how DMP influences growth rates; 4) estimating the effects of precipitation of antler growth for fed populations; and 5) quantifying the importance of the timing of resources to determine the relative importance of environmental conditions experienced during gestation, first year and year of capture on antler and body size of deer.
