DESCRIPTION:This meeting will be held via a video conference pursuant to Tex. Gov’t Code 551.127\, and open to the public. A link to the live broadcast and meeting materials will be available at https://www.highered.texas.gov. \n\nWelcome and opening remarks\nConsideration and possible action to approve summary notes from the June 21\, 2024 meeting\nRecognition of Members with terms ending in August 2024\nDiscussion of proposed Department of Education rules regarding distance education\nConsideration and possible action for recommendations from the Committee regarding comments on proposed Department of Education rules regarding distance education\nDiscussion of Institutional Plans for Distance Education review process\nDiscussion of statewide higher education activities pertaining to Generative Artificial Intelligence\nTHECB Updates\n\nDigital Learning Update\nState Authorization Reciprocity Agreements (SARA)\nHouse Bill 8\n\n\nWorkgroups / Sub-Committee Sessions\, which may include the following: Quality Assurance\, Research\, Operations\nDiscussion of Workgroups / Sub-Committee Sessions Reports\nDiscussion of Future Agenda Items and Review meeting calendar\nAdjournment\n\nIndividuals who may require auxiliary aids or services for this meeting should contact Glenn Tramel\, ADA Coordinator\, at 512.427.6193 at least five days before the meeting so that appropriate arrangements can be made. \nAll persons requesting to address the Committee regarding an item on this agenda should do so in writing at least 24 hours before the start of the meeting at Kylah.Torre@highered.texas.gov.  A toll-free telephone number\, free-of-charge video conference link\, or other means will be provided by which to do so. \nIf\, during the course of the meeting\, discussion of any item on the agenda should be held in a closed meeting\, the Board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act\, Texas Government Code\, Chapter 551\, Subchapters D and E.
