Objective 1: The first objective of CEAL is to conduct urgent community-engaged research and outreach focused on COVID-19 awareness and education to address the widespread misinformation about COVID-19 and promote an evidence-based response to the disease. Objective 2: The second objective of CEAL is to promote and facilitate inclusion of diverse racial and ethnic populations in clinical trials (prevention, vaccine, therapeutics), reflective of the populations disproportionately affected by the pandemic. Given the current public health emergency, strategies to facilitate enrollment into ongoing vaccine and therapeutic trials is urgent. At least one member of the multi-PI team will attend every CEAL consortium meeting and work collaboratively within the CEAL network governance structure to ensure community engagement and participation within their programs. Objective 3: In addition to the milestones above, all essential start-up activities described in the CEAL Teams’ proposal should be implemented as planned.
