The goal of the project is to develop a novel UV based border protection system to facilitate daily border protection operations and integrate education activities with the research to increase the diversity of HS-STEM students and HSE enterprise workforce. The goal is achieved through three objectives: (i) Solving key challenges in AI and UV integration for border protection. To fully unleash the potential of AI and UV for border protection, there are still several technology challenges need to overcome, such as collaboration between UVs, coverage of large area at low cost, and manned-unmanned teaming. (ii) Better preparing the students and workforce for the future HS missions. Fostering a diverse and competitive workforce is essential for the success of HS missions. UTRGV is the nation's second largest Hispanic-serving institute and has multiple campuses along the south border. These features offer a specific opportunity for the team to enhance the STEM education and foster a diverse workforce. (iii) Supporting faculty development. The success of the students relies on the success of faculty members. The project will help the young faculty member to conduct cutting-edge research, enrich the research and teaching portfolio, and establish the team. SAMs 1.1.1
