UNT plans to prepare several Zn alloy systems using conventional casting methods. The materials will then be processed into thin plates and subjected to various characterization techniques such as optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging, mechanical and hardness testing, and electrochemical and immersion corrosion testing. The materials will also be tested for their in vitro biocompatibility through direct and indirect assays and their impact on hemolysis, platelet adhesion, and antibacterial properties. The results of each experiment will be carefully analyzed and documented. Upon completion of all experiments, the manuscripts for each project will be written and submitted for publication to the appropriate journals.
