Background: The purpose of this contract is to examine the effects of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) exposure on embryonic zebrafish and determine the potential for latent effects. The Roberts laboratories will perform the work as outlined below: Specific Experiments: Phase 1: Continuation of previously funded work. Fish being grown out under the current proposal will be assessed for growth and reproductive endpoints. Tissue samples will be taken for further analyses determined in conjunction with NOAA and Abt personnel. Phase 2: Continuation of Phase 1 work and potential analyses of archived tissue samples. Deliverables: The Roberts laboratory will participate in regular conference calls with other group members and communicate frequently with the coPIs via email, Skype, etc. A written report of the results of the analyses will be presented to Dr. Morris at the conclusion of the project. The Roberts laboratories will present project results at scientific conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
