SAMS 1.1.1 Dehumidification is the process of removing water vapor from the moist air. lt is also a highly energy intensive process, especially in humid climates and for building typologies that require strict space humidity setpoints. Liquid desiccant air dehumidification (LOAD) is a promising alternative to vapor compression-based dehumidification for simple structure, energy savings and independent controlling on temperature and humidity. However, its use in market is limited because of the carryover problem. To address this issue, the membrane technology is applied. This hybrid design has not been intensively studied before. Thus, it is necessary to develop a numerical model for elevating performance and optimizing the design. Project output: a numerical model of the membrane-based ionic liquid desiccant heat pump system.
