SAMS 1.1.1 The proposed planning grant will bring together a disparate but thematically connected group of researchers and educators across TAMUK to study challenges and opportunities associated with broadening participation in engineering by setting up a one-of-a-kind center of excellence that aligns with the vision of the institution in serving the needs to South Texas and NASA workforce needs. The planning grant envisions a high-impact center for excellence in minority-dominated South Texas. The primary goal of the center will be broadening participation in NASA workforce through education and research training.
