Architecture and Construction Advisory Committee
Programs of study incorporate multiple entry and exit points which include industry-recognized certifications, Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees, and credit transfer agreements. The Architecture and Construction POS is charged with identifying and recommending to the Coordinating Board the sequence of courses specific to the architecture and construction career cluster which may be transferred to meet degree requirements.
At its December 15, 2015, quarterly meeting, and after a 30-day, statewide comment period ending on November 16, 2015, the Coordinating Board’s Committee on Academic and Workforce Success (CAWS) adopted the commissioner’s recommendation to establish the Architecture and Construction POS. Please see Board rules, Chapter 26, Subchapter B, Sections 26.121-26.127, published in the Texas Register on October 16, 2015. The full Board adopted these rules at its January 21, 2016, meeting, and they became effective on February 22, 2016.
