Architecture and Construction Advisory Committee

The Architecture and Construction Program of Study Advisory Committee (Architecture and Construction POS) works to align college and career readiness standards and career and technical education standards with the knowledge, skills, and abilities students are expected to demonstrate. The Architecture and Construction POS is made up of representatives from secondary and post-secondary education, business and industry, as well as other career and technical education experts.

Programs of study incorporate multiple entry and exit points which include industry-recognized certifications, Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees, and credit transfer agreements. The Architecture and Construction POS is charged with identifying and recommending to the Coordinating Board the sequence of courses specific to the architecture and construction career cluster which may be transferred to meet degree requirements.

At its December 15, 2015, quarterly meeting, and after a 30-day, statewide comment period ending on November 16, 2015, the Coordinating Board’s Committee on Academic and Workforce Success (CAWS) adopted the commissioner’s recommendation to establish the Architecture and Construction POS. The full Board adopted these rules at its January 21, 2016, meeting, and they became effective on February 22, 2016.
